Building Intentional Cross-Cultural Connections through Classroom Activities
The ability to build cross-cultural connections is one of the important competencies that we as language teaches must help our students achieve in today’s globally close-knit world. In this workshop/webinar, participants will be first introduced to the concept of cultural perspectives and how they affect the way we view the world; participants will then be introduced to the ways of applying higher order thinking skills, such as analysis and synthesis to help students approach perspectives of various cultures; examples of actual classroom activities that demonstrate how students were engaged in identifying cross-cultural issues, in finding solutions to the problems, and in creating a long-lasting positive impact will be shared and discussed.
