Job Description

Establish program teams and provide leadership of Nan Hai’s programs in the Kirkland location, develop resources, and protect and promote the company within the required budget; Implement Nan Hai’s mission, integrated communications, strategic goals, key initiatives and core values; Coordinate with Nan Hai’s branches in Millbrae and Santa Clara; Supervise and train Nan Hai’s new employees at the Kirkland location; Monitor program progress and provide regular reporting; Manage the budget to ensure profitability from the programs; Be responsible for programming logistics, including program publicity and student recruitment; Liaison with key Chinese cultural and educational exchange organizations, such as Peking University’s International College for Chinese Language Studies and Office of International Relations; Pre-tour orientation and supervision; Work with Peking University’s counterpart to determine class schedule; Research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations on curricula, instructional methods, and materials for the education division; Be responsible for conference logistics, working with conference chairs to initiate call for proposals and determine conference program; Liaison with keynote speakers and keep records with conference registration; Manage and maintain cooperation between China and U.S., and invite troupes from China to attend U.S. based educational, cultural, and artistic exchange programs; negotiate performance specifics and made all arrangements in the U.S. including but not limited finding venue, arranging transportation, hotel, food, etc.; Coordinate with China hosts to organize root-seeking tours to China; Plan and organize seminars in which professors of Chinese language education from prestigious U.S. and China Universities.

The selected candidate will join the iChineseEdu’s content team to develop new content for iChineseReader. iChineseReader is the best leveled Chinese reading platform tailored to meet varied reading needs of all K-12 Chinese programs. It offers more than 3000 fiction and nonfiction interactive e-books of different genres, topics, and content areas placed at 20 proficiency levels.

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  • Participate in iChineseReader content development and product production;
  • Develop and implement Standards-aligned materials that build and integrate rigorous, hands-on, inquiry-based and student-centered learning experiences in Mandarin Chinese;
  • Coordinate with business partners including authors, publishers, and other contractors to assure program quality and meet deadlines;
  • Collaborate with IT, Production, and Sales department for program planning, production and product marketing;
  • Assistant with iChineseEdu’s other programs and events.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with the latest education standards, including Common Core State Standard, ACTFL national standards for foreign language education, Next Generation Science Standards, etc.;
  • Knowledge and/or working experience of selecting appropriate reading materials to integrate culture, content and language for Chinese language learners;
  • Knowledge and/or working experience of publishing or digital publishing are helpful;
  • Strong interest and knowledge of educational technology tools and applications;
  • Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English;
  • Self-motivated, independent problem solver and good teamwork player;
  • Chinese language teaching experience preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, teaching Chinese as a second language, linguistics, communications, educational technology or other related majors; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid work permit in the United States

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  • Develop new features for company products
  • Manage company product on various platforms, and provide solution to any issue
  • Work closely with production team and content team to provide professional opinions
  • Develop and maintain internal production tools
  • Provide technical supports to team members and customers

Qualifications

  • Excellent HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript skills a must
  • Experienced in one or more JS frameworks

Our content team is looking for a motivated individual to develop educational content and materials for iChineseReader and other digital product/program.

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  • Be responsible for program’s logistics, including program publicity, student recruitment; liaison with Peking University’s International College for Chinese Language Studies and Office of International Relations; pre-tour orientation; working with Peking University’s counterpart to determine class schedule
  • Research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations on curricula, instructional methods, and materials for the education division

  • Manage the program cooperation between the Petitioner and Ji Nan University in China, which includes program publicity, daily program management, and student recruitment. Students will be awarded a Master’s degree of Arts in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language by Ji Nan University
  • Manage the cultural events organized by the Petitioner for the families with adopted children from China (“FCC”); organize root-seeking tours to China for FCC; host educational events including lectures, seminars, symposiums, and artist and curator talks, to facilitate academic discourse and raise public awareness for Chinese art artists
  • Plan and organize seminars in which professors of Chinese language education from Stanford University, UC-Berkeley, CSU-Long Beach, Harvard University, Peking University, Ji Nan University and Beijing Language University in China give lectures to Chinese language teachers at the Petitioner’s Chinese Language Education and Research Center (CLERC)

Qualifications

  • To perform as a Program Associate in a highly professional and competent manner, the incumbent must have minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching Methodology, Education, Chinese Language and Literature or a foreign education equivalent, as well as cross-cultural communication skills.

Our IT team is looking for a motivated individual to join us as an IT Support Technician. Your main responsibilities are to provide technical support for the whole company, assist our digital production, and manage/update our existing websites.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and set up office electronic equipment
  • Manage AWS servers and develop/update WordPress websites when necessary
  • Occasionally help production team to do publication layout

Qualifications

  • Motivated, Self-starter
