Effective Strategies in Preparing Students for the Chinese Subject Test (Part 2)


In this two session series of the Chinese Language Webinar course, participants will become familiar with the Chinese Subject Test (formerly known as SAT II Chinese Test) required to prepare students for college entrance exams. Participants will explore the structure of the Chinese Subject Test and the implications to classroom learning.  Specific strategies will be shared in how to provide students with various effective ways of practices that correspond to the structures and requirements of the Chinese Subject Test. Real examples used the instructor’s classrooms will be shared and discussed.


Baocai Paul Jia was past president of the Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS), and former vice president of the Chinese Language Teachers Association of California (CLTAC). He is member on the SAT Chinese Subject and AP Chinese Test Development Committee with the College Board, co-author of various Chinese textbooks. Mr. Jia has more than 30 years teaching experience and is currently teaching at Cupertino High School in California.
